What do you like to collect???

Chairs are my weakness! I love all kinds although I'm starting to get kinda picky!

Benches are okay too.

These little chairs are really place card holders. I use them to hold little notes from my Gracie. They are on top of another weakness hammered aluminum trays...I'll save that for another post.

This little bench holds my favorite Fiesta teapot in high esteem.

I love this little rocking chair.

I even love chair art. This one is from Kimberly Applegate. I would love a wall of her little paintings.

So what do you like to collect???

Pinched for book money!

Do you like to look at decorating books...I do! With gas fast approaching 4.00 a gallon and my weekly trip to the grocery store putting a big dent in my bank account I feel a little guilty about buying a magazine much less a decorating book. All of these books you see pics of I checked out at the good ole library! Cost me zip... nothing!

I know not everyone has access to a library system the size of a big city but it's worth looking into. I just go to amazon and cut and paste the title into the search box of the libraries website and request it to be sent to the branch nearest me. For some reason the branch in my neighborhood never has the title I want and I rarely have time to hunt for it. I love just going to the desk and picking them up.

Hope you all are having a wonderful Saturday!

Turning 8 on May 8th, 2008

I'm back from my business trip today! I could really use a nap! I didn't sleep at all on this sales meeting. Very glad to be home.
I have to brag on my husband. He knew the juggling of home, work and motherhood has been a lot lately so I came home to carpets that he had professionally cleaned, all of the floors moped, surfaces dusted and bed's made! It makes such a difference coming home to a picked up home.
Now if my lost luggage would just get here!
Tomorrow is my youngest daughter's birthday. She will be 8 on May8th on 2008! I made her this banner before I left. I have to say I had more fun making it than birthday girl had looking at it. It got a big eye roll from her!

May Day

For the 2 people that might read this blog I'm sorry it's been so long. I've had some computer problems.

One of my favorite blogs is Inspireco she has this great monthly magazine. Last month she had some great ideas for May Day. I should have taken pictures with the flowers in the jars but you get the idea. My daughter and I had fun delivering these anonymously. So far just one of my friends has figured it out! Totally fun project.

I've also been playing with chalk board spray paint. Great easy way to change an inexpensive platter from Target.
I hope you all have a fun weekend.
And a note to my Canton friends I hope you are all safe after the tornado this morning!

Egged

We got Egged last weekend! My daughter was thrilled!

This is a very clever fundraiser by our school's sixth grade class. Someone requests an egging of a friend for 20.00 and there is a note taped to your door letting you know who egged you and that you can egg someone too for 20.00...it just keeps passing on. Someone from the egg squad picks them all up in 48 hours and you also receive an email. I thought it was a very clever idea, sure beats selling cookie dough!

Effort

The last few months have reflected a lack of effort in my appearance. I've put back on all of the weight I'd worked so hard to loose a few years ago. I'm growing out an unfortunate hairtastrophe and I'm in the need for a moisturiser that turns back time. Don't I sound like a big self pity party!!!!

Well I started the long process of getting the weight off. 6.5 lbs so far! I'm working out again...that explains my absence on this little blog of mine. Saturday, I'm going to a new hairdresser and asking for a little longer version {I have to account for a second chin!} of Mrs. Cruises style. I know it's dangerous to bring a picture of a much younger celebrity into a hairdresser because somewhere in the back of your head you think this hair cut is going to make you look thinner and younger...hahaha! My cute Canton friend is sporting a blonde version of this cut and it looks great on her. {i got her permission to copy it}

Oh and last Saturday I bought some new moisturizer, it's too soon to tell but I'll let you know!

Ladies, it's all about making the effort to fight the frump!

GREAT Saturday!

I had the best day yesterday! I went to Canton with one my very best friends! It was a gorgeous day we laughed at so many things goofy things...think purple hat society! Canton is a combination of beautiful booths, great junk, lots of crap, many characters and state fair food. Doesn't get any better!

We met blog royalty...Miss Tina from Cherry Hill Cottage she works at LaurieAnna's during Canton 1st Monday weeks. My friend and I gushed over meeting all of these people we know from blog land!

I must tell you LaurieAnna's booth is magical. I mean it was packed with the coolest stuff beautifully displayed (and all Priced!!) you could tell a lot of work went into it. I didn't take pictures because there are so many signs that say NO Pictures please so I didn't ask you'll just have to take my word. I bought a couple of plates for Nester project!

We also stopped by The Veranda's new digs. Beautiful booth too filled with very cool stuff. My friend and I have gone to her holiday open houses before so it was fun to see all of her stuff together. {Becky you should have bought that horse!} We got to meet the very talented Linda Smith of The Blue Gate. I really admire that kind of talent.

We also found a great booth with the coolest typewriter jewelry. I'm kinda kicking myself for not buying a charm. www.tabtypewriterkeyjewelry.com

The day ended back home with dinner {w/o kids} with my husband! Great Thai food and a bottle of wine.
Hope y'all had a great Saturday too!

TGIF

Are you ready for the weekend???? I am... although we have so much planned there won't be much down time.

I do have a date tonight w/my hubby! We are going to the new studio movie grill. Should be fun.

I thought I'd pass on some inspiration for you to look at over the weekend. Tracy Porter has a blog. Lots of cute little videos. Totally out of my budget stuff and I'm trying to over look the fact that she is a size 4, tall and very glamorous.

Take a look. Tracy Porter

A few Easter pics. We had a simple lunch. I made Giada's Chicken Salad in lettuce cups
fruit and deviled eggs. For dessert we had Pioneer Womans Carrot Cake. Monday I started my diet!

Back to work, Back to School

Sunday night about 8:00

M: Grace, you need to pick up your room before you go to bed. You've got school tomorrow.
G: Okay
8:30
M: How does your room look?
G: I've been working on it. Come see!
I get the grand tour of a reorganized closet and freshly turned down bed and then Grace lifts up her night gown and says see and reveals she's ahead of the game...She has her MONDAY panties on! She is officially ready to take on the week!

Maybe all we need to take on the week is Monday Panties!
